GD Vajra Wine Dinner with Special guest Kevin Natoli!
Wednesday August 5th
Hello All! G.D. Vajra and Luigi Baudana are two distinct, complementary sides of Barolo’s unique geography—crafted under the unified vision of one of the region’s most respected winemaking families, the Vaira family.
The Vajra Story: Founded by Aldo Vaira in the late 1960s/early 1970s—who was a pioneer in organic farming long before it was fashionable—G.D. Vajra is defined by high-elevation vineyards (such as their flagship Bricco delle Viole)
The Baudana Story: Luigi Baudana was one of the true tiny "garagiste" producers in Serralunga, farming just over four hectares across prized Crus like Baudana and Cerretta. When Luigi and his wife Fiorina decided to retire in 2008, they quietly entrusted their historic vineyards and micro-cellar to the Vaira family to carry forward as guardians of their name and legacy.
Bringing these two producers together gives you a front-row seat to the contrast of Barolo’s dual personality.
Vajra brings the silk, high elevation, and delicate perfume of the western hills.
Baudana delivers the broad shoulders, power, and earthiness of Serralunga in the east.
Though both estates are now farmed with the same meticulous, organic approach by the Vaira family, each winery maintains its own distinct cellar and identity to let the terroir shine. Come taste some brilliant Piedmontese wines with National Brand Manager, Kevin Natoli!
